A panel show, shot on set

The brief
An episodic panel show that needed to look the same in episode twelve as it did in episode one, shot in a room that is not a studio.
The set had to be dressed, lit and blocked so that a five-person conversation could be covered without a camera ever appearing in another camera's frame.

A repeatable set
Lighting positions, furniture placement and camera marks were recorded on the first day and rebuilt to the centimetre on every day after it. That is unglamorous, and it is the entire reason the episodes cut together.
Built for muted viewing
Subtitles were timed by hand rather than dumped from auto-transcription, because most of the audience watches on a phone with the sound off and a mistimed caption is worse than none.
